Social Security Disability Insurance
Social Security Disability benefits (“SSD”), which are administered by the Social Security Administration, are potentially available to those individuals who have a history of working and paying taxes for a specified period of years.  In order to be eligible to receive these benefits, an individual must establish that he has been unable to work for at one year due to injury or illness, or that the individual is expected to remain out of work for at least one year for the same reasons.
