Construction Accidents
A construction site is an especially dangerous place for workers and passersby. Accidents may occur while working at elevated heights on scaffolds, operating heavy machinery (hoists, cranes and forklifts), moving heavy objects, falling from unstable work surfaces, and performing welding and cutting activities. Workers may also be injured from fires and explosions, exposure to toxic chemicals and substances, and a collapse of materials, walls and structures. When a construction site accident occurs, property owners, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, safety engineers, and equipment manufacturers may be liable for failing to implement proper safety measures, provide adequate training and supervision, warn of hazards at the worksite, hire competent and careful employees, provide safe products and equipment, and comply with applicable safety codes and specifications.
