Richard T. Kupersmith

Richard T. Kupersmith, Esquire

Concentration: 
Richard, a partner in the firm, handles all aspects of complex personal injury litigation. His practice includes matters of premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, professional negligence and insurance bad faith claims.

Experience:
Richard has extensive trial experience in both the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania. He has obtained numerous jury verdicts, and successfully negotiated claims in excess of $1 million dollars for his clients. Richard has appeared before the appellate courts of Pennsylvania and has presented oral argument on significant legal issues including claims against municipalities, claims against the Commonwealth and rights of subrogation. He has lectured on many aspects of personal injury claims including premises liability and insurance bad faith, and has prepared written materials for continuing legal education seminars. He has been a frequent contributor to a quarterly newsletter on product safety for the hose manufacturing industry. He was selected as a Super Lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine. This distinction is limited to only 5% of the legal community in Pennsylvania. He also maintains Martindale-Hubbell’s “AV” Peer Review Rating, which represents their highest level of professional excellence.

Education:
Richard earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from George Washington University in 1985.  He received his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1988.

Membership:
Richard is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania. He is active in the Pennsylvania Association For Justice and was elected to its Board of Governors from 1999-2004. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association -- Young Lawyers Division.  He is active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association and has served on the Health Law Committee, the Interdisciplinary Committee on Medical and Health related issues, and the Professional Liability Committee. Richard is also a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
